The most suitable rod for most waters of Iceland is a 9 ft, 5, or 6wt weight rod. In smaller streams, however, it is more enjoyable to use a 3 or 4wt. Because of our unstable climate and frequent strong winds, bringing along a 7wt is a good idea, especially when lake fishing.
